FinlensFor Financials Preparation

Financial statements for a group with several companies, straight from the trial balance.

Balance Sheet, Statement of Profit and Loss, Cash Flow, Notes and schedules for every company and the group, under AS, IGAAP, Ind AS or US GAAP — or a format you build yourself.

You upload the trial balance and map it once; every figure ties back to the ledger, and every change is kept on record.

A new organisation is checked and switched on by our team, usually within one business day.

From trial balance to signed statements

Eight steps, numbered as they are in the application's menu. Each keeps a record of every change, and nothing reaches the statements until it has been checked.

  1. 01

    Companies

Each company with its framework, first financial year, auditor and signatories; the previous year opens with it.

  2. 02

    Upload data

The trial balance from Tally, Zoho Books or any ERP, as CSV or Excel, with or without account codes.

  3. 03

    Mapping

Each ledger linked to a statement line once, for every framework, in one workbook or on screen.

  4. 04

    Validate

Debits equal credits, every account mapped, the balance sheet balances and closing cash ties.

  5. 05

    Statements

Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, Cash Flow and schedules in rupees, thousands, lakhs or crores.

  6. 06

    Journals

Adjustments and reclasses drafted by a preparer and posted by an administrator.

  7. 07

    Notes

Policies, contingent liabilities and commitments, with live figures and automatic note numbers.

  8. 08

    Export and close

Excel, a linked workbook or Word with the signature block; a closed year cannot change.

Each company keeps its own statements in its own framework; the companies that report in the same framework consolidate into one group set.

Four frameworks, and your own

Each company reports in AS (the ICAI format for firms, LLPs and trusts), IGAAP (Schedule III Division I), Ind AS (Division II) or US GAAP (classified balance sheet and statement of operations). For a board pack, a lender's format or a management view, build a custom framework: start from any of the four, rename, add and regroup lines, and map once.

Mapped once for each company

One mapping workbook carries a column per framework and an optional note sub-line, so accounts that belong together print as one row of the note. A trial balance without account codes is matched by ledger name.

The statements check themselves

Before a set leaves, the balance sheet must balance, each note must foot to its line, the year's result must reach reserves and closing cash must equal cash in the balance sheet. A failed check names the line and the difference.

Consolidation, with every entity beside the group

Choose All companies in the Entity selector and every statement, note and schedule is consolidated: each company in its own column, the eliminations in the next, and the group total last. Nothing is copied into a consolidation workbook — the group set reads the same trial balances and journals as the entity sets.

  • Who is in the group

Each company is marked in or out of consolidation; a company left out still reports on its own.

  • Sub-groups

Name a consolidation group — say the Indian companies, or the education trusts — and it gets its own consolidated set beside the full group.

  • Eliminations as journals

Inter-company balances, investments in subsidiaries and inter-company income are eliminated by consolidation entries, drafted and posted with the same approval and audit trail as any journal. A warning shows while any are still in draft.

  • Several currencies

A company that keeps its books in another currency uploads its trial balance as it is; it is translated to rupees at the rates you set for each month or year.

  • The whole set, consolidated

Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, Cash Flow, notes with entity columns, fixed asset schedules and fund movements — in Excel with every figure a formula, and in Word.

Controls that are settings, not code

How your group reports is kept on one screen. It is set for the whole organisation, and a company that works differently keeps its own value. Every change is written to the audit trail.

  • Reporting frameworks

Which of AS, IGAAP, Ind AS and US GAAP the organisation prepares; each adds its menu and its column in the mapping file.

  • Note numbering

Notes run 3, 4, 5 … in print order with no gaps; a note with no figures drops out.

  • Captions

Rename, renumber or hide any line for a company; clearing the field brings the standard caption back.

  • Posting

Preparers draft, administrators post, and draft journals block a period close.

  • Period close

A closed year's trial balance, journals and registers cannot change; corrections go to an open year.

Who does what

Each person starts from a role and works only in the companies they are given.

  • Preparer

    Entity accountant

Uploads trial balances, maps accounts, drafts journals and writes the notes.

  • Admin

    Financial controller

Posts journals, closes periods, and manages companies, users and settings.

  • Admin

    Group CFO

Reviews each entity and the consolidation side by side and signs off the group set.

  • Viewer

    Management and board

Reads and downloads the statements without being able to change them.

  • Receives the output

    Statutory auditor

Gets the linked workbook and the Word set, with the trial balance and journals behind each figure.

  • Super Admin

    Platform administrator

Manages organisations and plans; opening an organisation's ledger needs a logged break-glass session.

Out to Excel and Word

The formats your auditors and board work in, from the same figures you see on screen.

  • Download XLSX

Any statement as it is on screen, in the chosen denomination, negatives in brackets.

  • Linked workbook

Statements, notes, schedules, trial balance and journals, every figure a formula back to the ledger.

  • Word

The full set with the auditor's and signatories' block, ready to print and sign.

  • Tally and other books

Trial balances from Tally, Zoho Books or any ERP, with or without account codes.

  • Excel add-in

A month-wise profit and loss pulled straight into a spreadsheet with your own sign-in.

  • Word add-in

Placeholders in a filing become linked figures that refresh from the ledger.

Security and audit

Every upload, mapping, journal, note and export is kept with who did it and when. Sign-ins and every change to settings, people and periods go to the audit trail.

  • Each entry's SHA-256 hash covers the one before it, so an edit or deletion breaks the chain
  • Organisations kept apart in one database, checked on every query
  • Role-based access on every request
  • Closed periods locked; corrections by reversing entries
  • Amounts held as whole paise, with no rounding drift
  • Built by an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified company
